About Samuel

A family tradition,
a lifelong calling.

Sam started working with his uncle at around twelve years old — one of the first professionals in Michigan to focus on humane wildlife exclusion rather than trapping. His uncle developed early versions of the exclusion tube systems still used by wildlife companies across the country today.

After purchasing the family business, Sam chose to specialize in the most difficult, most regulated corner of the industry: bats. Today the practice represents more than 30 years of combined family experience in Oakland County — the same county his uncle has served for 26+ years.

Why Homeowners Trust Sam

Six reasons families choose Sam —
and stay with him.

01

A Second-Generation Practice

Sam apprenticed under his uncle — one of Michigan's earliest humane wildlife operators, and the man who developed some of the first exclusion tube systems still in use today.

02

Live Exclusion. Never Trapping.

Bats are protected in Michigan — every removal must be done through live exclusion, without trapping, relocating, or killing. It's the only method Sam has ever practiced.

03

The 5-Year Workmanship Guarantee

If a bat returns through any point we've sealed within five years, we come back and make it right. In writing, transferable to new owners.

04

Michigan Law, Followed to the Letter

Michigan protects flightless bat pups during maternity season. We never break that rule — and we'll tell you plainly if your project has to wait.

05

Six Months of Training — Minimum

No technician performs an exclusion alone until they've ridden with Sam and completed at least six months of hands-on training. The margin for error is a quarter of an inch.

06

Rooted in Oakland County

Three decades of family practice in one county means Sam knows the housing stock — the era, the roofline, the common entry points — before he even arrives.

Testimonials

From Michigan families,
in their own words.

"Sam is the real thing. He climbed onto our farmhouse in a rainstorm to double-check one small vent he wasn't sure about. Two summers now — no bats. A rare kind of professional."

Margaret & David L.

Rochester, MI

"I called four companies. Three wanted to poison. Sam was the only one who explained the law, the season, and how he'd do it humanely. Worth every penny — and then some."

James R.

Bloomfield Hills, MI

"Reading his book before he arrived was like being handed a syllabus. When Sam showed up, everything he'd written was true. Craftsman, teacher, gentleman."

Dr. Susan H.

Birmingham, MI

Frequently Asked

The questions we
hear most often.

All questions →
  • As small as a quarter inch. Most wildlife needs an opening the size of a baseball or larger — bats do not. A single missed opening can cause the entire exclusion to fail, which is why every gap has to be found and sealed.

  • No. Bats are protected in Michigan — every removal must be done through live exclusion. No trapping. No relocating. No killing. That is the law, and it has been the family's practice for more than thirty years.

  • Almost always sound before sight — scratching, fluttering, or light tapping in walls or ceilings between roughly 7:30–10:00 PM (when bats leave to feed) or 4:30–6:30 AM (when they return to roost). Guano near vents or soffits is another common tell.

  • A timely exclusion is often in the $1,000–$1,500 range. Ignored, the same problem can grow into a $20,000+ restoration as guano and urine soak insulation, drywall, and framing. The sooner it's addressed, the cheaper it stays.

  • We inspect year-round, but Michigan law protects flightless pups during maternity season (roughly mid-May through mid-August). During that window we plan, quote, and schedule — but we do not perform exclusions.
